Destination weddings lend themselves to those who have ties to a particular place; maybe it’s where you got engaged or perhaps you created some of your favourite memories with your loved one here. Whatever the reason may be, destination weddings not only allow you to take your vows in surroundings you love but also propose interesting and memorable locations for your wedding photography just like these beautiful photos from Amy Fanton‘s Venice inspiration shoot show. Okay we admit, this isn’t technically a real wedding… but the photos are so convincing we just had to include it! We can’t get enough of the Katya Katya Shehurina dresses used in the shoot and the delicate lace detailing they possess, and as for that rose gold hair piece from Kelly Spence? Just wow. We wish we could be a bride every day just to justify wearing such a gorgeous piece.

This shoot has our jaws firmly on the floor; we are totally in awe at how beautiful the Venice backdrop is and just how much elegance screams from the styling of this day. Destination weddings can pose problems, travel expenses and language barriers just to name a few, but if this is something you are able to navigate the pay off for your efforts could be immeasurable. If this is a route you are considering make sure you do plenty of research before you plan your trip – if you have found the perfect photographer for your big day after months of searching to find out at the last minute they cannot attend your foreign celebrations you could be left not only disappointed, but without the photographs you so long for to document your beautiful surroundings. Check that all of your suppliers are able to attend your day or even better, source your suppliers from the country you are to be wed in – many wedding planners now offer international and/or European coverage and this could take a lot of the stress out the planning of your big day!
